Dinner & a Movie: Jurassic Park

This week’s dinner adventure took us somewhere wild.

That’s right—we ventured into the land of dinosaurs with a Jurassic Park-themed night that was as thrilling as the movie itself! From a prehistoric tablescape to a menu that would satisfy even a T-Rex, this night was filled with fun, laughter, and a whole lot of roars (some from the kids, some from the dog 😅).

🦕 The Jurassic Menu:

We kept the food playful and on-theme, making it easy to prep and fun to eat for guests of all ages:

  • 🥔 Potato “Claws” – Crispy roasted wedges, shaped like dino claws for a prehistoric crunch.

  • 🥦 Broccoli “Trees” – Because every dinosaur needs a little greenery in their diet.

  • 🍖 Dino Ribs – Sticky, fall-off-the-bone ribs that were quickly devoured (with a few stolen licks from our very own Dino-saur pup 🐾).

  • 🍹 “Blood” Mocktail – A dramatic drink made from cranberry and sparkling water

  • 🌋 Lava Volcano Cake – A molten chocolate cake that oozed deliciousness. Let’s just say, it erupted with flavor!

  • 🦕 Dino Nuggets – The MVP of the night. Because no Jurassic feast is complete without these kid-approved (and let’s be honest, adult-approved too) bites.

The Prehistoric Tablescape

To set the scene, we brought Jurassic Park to life with an earthy, natural vibe:

  • Layers of lush greenery and tropical leaves

  • Small dinosaur figurines tucked between vases and dishes

  • Neutral linens and wood serving boards to keep it grounded and natural

  • A few scattered flowers and candles to add a soft touch of beauty to the wild

The result? A tablescape that felt like you were dining right in Jurassic Park—without the actual threat of velociraptors, of course.

Dinner & a Movie nights have become a rhythm in our home—something simple, something themed, something fun. It’s not about perfection. It’s about creating moments. Sharing laughs. Getting creative in the kitchen. And enjoying good food with the people you love.

Whether you're a die-hard dinosaur fan or just looking for a reason to break out the dino nuggets, a Jurassic Park-themed dinner is a roaring good time.

So… who’s joining us for the next adventure?

Let me know if you try this one at home—or if you have any movie night themes you’d love to see next!
