Dinner & a Movie Night: Tinker Bell

There’s something magical about setting the table, lighting a few candles (or in this case, fairy lights), and gathering for an intentional evening of food, fun, and film. Our Dinner and a Movie series has been such a sweet way to bring people together, and this time, we sprinkled a little pixie dust into the mix with a Tinker Bell-themed night!

Whether you’re planning a cozy family dinner, a playdate with little ones, or a whimsical girls’ night, here’s how you can host your own Tinker Bell Dinner and a Movie night—complete with themed décor, a menu inspired by the Pixie Hollow’s harvest, and all the enchanted details to make it feel special.

The Theme: Bringing Pixie Hollow to Life

When thinking about the world of Tinker Bell, I wanted to create a setting that felt dreamy, whimsical, and full of nature-inspired details. Imagine a cozy woodland table, soft twinkle, and earthtones throughout.

Here’s how I set the scene:
An earth filled tablescape with grass or moss, earth-toned florals and greenery
💫 Fairy lights in jars for a soft, twinkling glow, then added flowers to the jar for multi-purpose decor
🍽️ Harvest Insired Dishware was the chef’s kiss. The meal was built around the adorable acorn mugs that were gifted by a sweet man at our church.
🧚 A few fairy houses or characters around for a playful touch

The Menu: A Feast Fit for Fairies

I wanted to create a light, fresh, and garden-inspired menu—something that felt like it could have been gathered right from Pixie Hollow! Here’s what we served:

"Pixie Arugula Salad" – Arugula, feta, blueberries & candied pecans drizzled with your favorite balsamic vinaigrette

"Harvest Butternut Squash Lasagne" – Recipe from The Forest Feast Gatherings

"Forest Feast Yogurt Parfait" – Vanilla yogurt sprinkled with granola, blueberries, raspberries drizzled with almond butter

This menu was simple, but every dish had a little touch of whimsy, making it feel special without being overcomplicated.

The Movie: A Perfect Cozy Night In

Once the table was cleared, we curled up for Tinker Bell—the perfect way to end the night. This movie is such a nostalgic, feel-good classic with stunning animation and a heartwarming message about creativity, purpose, and embracing who you were made to be.

Bonus ideas:
🌿 If you’re hosting with little ones, let them dress up as fairies!
🎨 Set up a small craft station for DIY fairy wings or wands or paint a fairy house.
🌙 Take the party outside and watch the movie under the stars!

Why I Love These Themed Nights

These Dinner and a Movie nights have been such a joy to put together. They remind me that hospitality doesn’t have to be big or elaborate—it’s about creating intentional moments. Whether it’s a cozy dinner for two or a full gathering with friends, there’s always a way to bring a little extra magic to the table.
