Celebrate Earth Day with Fun for the Whole Family

What a fun day we had celebrating planet earth! There are so many activities and treats to make this day memorable. This is how we spent our Earth Day 2020:

We started the day with Earth Waffles. They were easy to make and oh so delicious. Just use your go-to waffle recipe (this is mine) and separate your batter into two bowls. Mix one bowl with green food colouring and one with blue food colouring. Spoon a bit of both onto a round waffle maker and VOILA, you’ve got the whole world in your hands! (I can’t help but sing that song now…)

As we ate our waffles we talked about how creation fits into God’s story. How he is the master artist and how we need to be good stewards of the earth. We did an Earth Day word search and made slime in white, blue and green.

Earth Day Popcorn

Preheat Oven to 350

  • Pop 2 big bowls of popcorn. Approx 10 cups. I prefer stove top but microwave would work too.

  • Blend 4 TBSP of Agave with green food colouring and 4 TBSP with blue food colouring

  • Mix the blue agave into one of the popcorn bowls and the green into the other, using what is needed to coat.

  • Pour the popcorn onto 2 baking trays and bake for 5 mins.

  • Once cooled, mix with the blue and the green popcorn together

We did an InstaLive with our friend Mason who is a recycling ambassador and advocate for keeping our oceans healthy. Click here to check out his YouTube Channel or follow him on Instagram @masons_ocean. He’s a pretty inspiring kid. Keep up the good work Mason!
