Today may be the best family fun yet!! 😂 The way I see it, when you’re home all day, every day, it can go one of 3-ways:

1. You clean non-stop and your house is spotless (that will ever be my reality)

2. You clean all day and your house is still a disaster (this seems to be my sweet spot)

3. You’ve just given up (I’m getting there)

Today, we’re all stepping up and giving this house a deep clean from top to bottom. Now before you think, “how is this fun?” It’s got a twist! ❤️

We just purchased a new hotel, it’s an incredible opportunity but is a bit of a fixer-upper. The grand opening is tonight so we’re going to have to work together to get it in tip-top shape. Steps to a successful opening:

1. Conduct interviews and hire a staff - draw it out and make it fun

2. Host your first staff meeting. Don’t forget to serve tea and cookies 🍪

3. Name your hotel - everyone puts a name in a hat or choose together

4. Make name tags

5. Get your tools together and make a checklist - change bedding complete with a chocolate on the pillow, etc...

6. Move room by room together not moving on until that room is done. Check the room off your list when complete. ✔️

7. Meet in the lunchroom for break

8. Have fun!! 🎉

9. This is how to ensure fun: At random times throughout the day play a song really loud and have a dance party. Try different genres and remember they follow your lead. Be silly, even if you have teenagers. They may roll their eyes but inside their heart is soaring. Another idea is an impromptu game of Twister.

10. Don’t forget to add the finishing touches like lighting a candle or place flowers bedside before the grand opening. 💐

Now it’s time for the ribbon cutting!! (No really, get a ribbon and make it a thing)

I betcha, it won’t end here. Don’t be surprised if you’re kids take it to the next level and start checking guests in and continuing in on the fun! *Don’t forget to pay your staff at the end of the work day using a currency of your choosing. 🍦 💰 🎥 (Isabella made a housekeeping cart with a laundry bag. 😂)

We woke up the next morning and started our VACAY!! 🎉 Despite our manager Isabella taking non-stop reservations for last night, (including Lauren Daigle), our hotel grand opening had to been postponed due to more work than was originally anticipated. The staff worked tirelessly to no avail and were given the night off.

Once the ribbon is cut, we switched from staff to guests. 🥂 We enjoyed a peaceful and relaxing day of vacay, taking in all the hotel has to offer. Listening to spa music, reading, puzzles, bubble baths, spa treatments, games, family walks, room service and ended the evening with a movie in bed. Sometimes one day isn’t enough for an adventure. Follow your kids lead. If they are into an activity expand on it and keep it going.
