Set up your airport. When the kids were younger I liked to do this Sunday night so they woke up to the surprise. Now that the kids are older, they like being a part of the creative process. Make your airplane as simple or elaborate as you have the energy for. You can make a plane out of cardboard boxes, under the kitchen table, use your car and drive around the block or as simple as chairs in a row. Do you provide inflight meals or drink service? What kind of flight attendant are you going to be? Over the top and bubbly or stern and bossy?

Follow these inflight passenger announcements, but be sure to add a fun character twist. Your kids will LOVE it!

As you’re prepping the plane, have your kids pack their suitcase. What will they need for a trip to Mexico? (you can let them know you’ve already shipped their clothing and toiletries.) Don’t forget your bathing suit!

Time to pull out your passports. Have your kids draw and colour the flag of Mexico in their passport and colour Mexico on the map.

How long is the flight from the airport in your city to Mexico? Time to climb aboard. After a fun-filled flight the adventure begins!
